Consumer Reports calls for CPSC investigation into range oven glass doors including Samsung
Independent corroboration of the glass-shattering finding from Consumer Reports' advocacy arm, naming Samsung among the brands in the federal database.
What to check. Corroborates the glass-shattering risk for Samsung ranges. The CPSC has been asked to investigate; no recall has been issued for this issue as of the source date. Owners should be alert to spontaneous oven-door glass breakage.
Samsung electric range wire connector overheating recall (2022, ~95,000 units)
Reports a 2022 recall of approximately 95,000 Samsung electric ranges due to a wire connector at the surface element terminal developing a high-resistance connection causing localized overheating. Caveat: this is a repair-industry blog aggregating recall records, not a primary source; I could not verify against the CPSC or Samsung primary source before budget ran out.
What to check. If you own a Samsung electric range from around 2022, check whether your model is covered by this wire-connector recall. Treat this as a lead to verify with Samsung or CPSC directly, as the source is secondary.
What to check. Samsung oven-door glass has shattered without warning in some units, sometimes days after the appliance was turned off. If you own a Samsung range, be aware of this failure mode; Samsung has stated it will repair oven door glass free of charge regardless of warranty status. This is a US-focused finding; no equivalent EU/TR documentation was found in this run.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
