RAPEX recall SR/00792/25: Beko HIYG64225SBOP gas-hob gas-leak fire risk

Safety risk

Safety Gate/RAPEX notification 9/2025 (SR/00792/25), reported by Poland, published 28.02.2025. The notified defect is insufficient sealing between the gas nozzles and the gas rail, which can leak gas and cause fire and burns. It covers models HIYG64225SBOP and HIYG64225SXOP (barcodes 8770263200 / 8770273200) made in Turkey between 01.08.2024 and 31.10.2024, and the product is found non-compliant with the EU Gas Appliances Regulation (GAR). The measure is withdrawal from end users, effective 10/02/2025.

What to check. If you own this hob, check the production date. Units made 01.08.2024–31.10.2024 are covered by the recall: stop using them and contact Beko's Polish distributor (recall page beko.com/pl-pl/Pomoc-techniczna/informacja-plyty-gazowe-2025) for return/replacement. Units outside that date range are not named in the notice.

Beko Türkiye duyurusu: HIYG64225SBOP gaz kaçağı yangın riski geri çağırma

Turkish-language report of the same recall (SR/00792/25, 25 Şubat 2025): insufficient sealing between the gas burners and the gas rail can cause gas leaks and potentially fire and burn incidents. It names HIYG64225SBOP (barcode 8770263200) and HIYG64225SXOP (8770273200) produced in Turkey 01.08.2024–31.10.2024. The article notes the recall currently covers only the Poland market and that Beko Türkiye has made no official statement about the same models sold in Turkey.

What to check. For a unit bought in Turkey, the recall is not yet officially confirmed there; the article advises Turkish owners to monitor Beko Türkiye's official channels. For an EU/Poland unit, follow the recall process above.

Owner report: Beko HIYG 64225 SBO large burner thermocouple exposed, early oxidation

An Italian consumer complaint on Altroconsumo's claims board about a Beko gas hob named as 'HIYG 64225 SBO' (the near-identical SBO variant of the SBOP subject). After normal domestic use, the large dual-ring burner is described as designed with a downward structure leaving the thermocouple exposed and unprotected, so cooking/cleaning liquids flow inward, the thermocouple stays exposed to moisture, and early oxidation is already present; the owner also reports the liquids can reach the oven below with a potential electrical-safety concern. The authorized technician reportedly said the repair would be uneconomical and the defect would recur. This is a single owner's report, not a service record or recall.

What to check. This is one owner's account of a design defect on the closely related SBO variant, not an official notice. A buyer should weigh it as anecdotal; the documented, official risk for this family remains the gas-leak fire recall described above.
