Troubleshooting guides document common Gotrax battery failures including BMS cutoffs and charging issues. These are brand-wide patterns, not specific to the Cosmos hoverboard.
What to check. If buying a Gotrax Cosmos, be aware that Gotrax batteries have documented BMS/charging failure patterns across the brand, though no Cosmos-specific incidents were found.

An owner reports a replacement Gotrax unit with battery failure and unhelpful customer service. This is a scooter review, not the Cosmos hoverboard specifically, but reflects brand-wide reliability and support concerns.
What to check. Gotrax customer service and battery reliability have documented complaints across products; factor this into purchase decisions even though no Cosmos-specific failure was found.

Identifies the product as the Gotrax Cosmos with a 144Wh battery and manufacturer-claimed UL2272 certification. This establishes product identity but is a marketing claim, not independent verification.
What to check. UL2272 certification is a meaningful safety standard, but verify it independently rather than relying solely on the manufacturer's page.

CPSC recall records for hoverboards date from 2016 and cover other brands (Hovertrax, Swagway). No Gotrax Cosmos recall appears in CPSC-related results.
What to check. The absence of a recall is not proof of safety, but it means no official recall action has been taken for this product.
