Austrian consumer-protection body VKI lists KAC 3352 recall under 'Brandgefahr' (fire hazard)

Safety risk

The Austrian consumer-protection association VKI (funded by the social ministry) independently lists the KAC 3352 recall under 'Brandgefahr' (fire hazard), confirming the same affected PO batches and the same failure mechanism — compressor power-cable insulation wearing through and igniting the refrigerant and unit.

What to check. Independent corroboration of the fire hazard from a national consumer-protection body. Same action as above: check the PO number, stop using affected units, contact IMTRON.

KOENIC KAC 3352 manufacturer's own safety notice: worn compressor cable sheath can cause sparking and ignite the refrigerant and unit

IMTRON GmbH, the brand owner for MediaMarkt/Saturn, issued this official safety notice. In very rare cases the compressor power cable contacts the copper refrigerant tube; with long or intensive use the cable sheath wears, causing electrical sparking at the copper lead that could ignite the refrigerant and the unit itself. The company recalled the affected batches preventively.

What to check. This is the manufacturer's own confirmation of the fire hazard. If your KAC 3352 is in PO batches 7000008080/81/82/88, stop using it and contact IMTRON (0800 7773222 in Germany, or [email protected]) for an on-site check, replacement, or refund. The recall is EU/Switzerland (MediaMarkt/Saturn); no Turkish-market notice was found in this run.

KOENIC KAC 3352 portable AC recalled by Swiss regulator ESTI for fire and electric-shock risk from compressor power cable touching refrigerant tube

Safety risk

The Swiss federal regulator ESTI, in voluntary cooperation with Media Markt Schweiz AG / Imtron GmbH, recalled the portable KAC 3352 on 20.10.2021. The compressor's power cable sheath can contact the copper refrigerant tube, creating a fire and electric-shock hazard; affected units must not be used and must be returned.

What to check. If you own a KAC 3352, check the PO number on the type plate (right side) or packaging. Units with PO 7000008080, 7000008081, 7000008082, or 7000008088 are recalled: stop using them, unplug, and contact IMTRON (0800 200 308 in Switzerland, or [email protected]) for a replacement or refund. Other PO numbers are not affected.

KOENIC KAC 3352 recalled by Swiss regulator ESTI for fire and electric-shock hazard (compressor power cable contacting refrigerant copper tube)

Safety risk

The Swiss federal regulator (ESTI) and the manufacturer jointly recalled the KOENIC KAC 3352 portable air conditioner on 20.10.2021. The compressor's power cable sheath can contact the refrigerant copper tube and wear through, causing sparking and a fire/electrical-shock risk. Only batches with PO numbers 7000008080, 7000008081, 7000008082, 7000008088 are affected; the regulator instructs owners to stop using the unit and return it to the point of sale.

What to check. If you own a KAC 3352, check the PO number on the type plate (right side) or packaging. If it is one of the four recalled batches, stop using it immediately and contact IMTRON (0800 200 308 in Switzerland, 0800 7773222 in Germany, [email protected]) for an on-site inspection, replacement, or refund. Units outside these batches are not affected.

Manufacturer IMTRON confirms KAC 3352 recall: compressor power-line insulation can wear, ignite refrigerant and the unit

IMTRON GmbH (which manages the KOENIC house brand for MediaMarkt/Saturn) published this official safety notice. It states that in very rare cases the compressor power line can contact the refrigerant copper tube; with long or intensive use the cable sheath can wear, causing sparking, and continued operation could ignite the refrigerant and the unit itself. The recall covers only PO batches 7000008080, 7000008081, 7000008082, 7000008088.

What to check. This is the manufacturer's own confirmation of the fire hazard. Owners of an affected batch should stop using the unit and contact IMTRON for a free on-site check, replacement, or refund. The manufacturer explicitly advises against opening the unit yourself.
