Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G power button, overheating, proximity sensor and motherboard failures (EU warranty complaint)
An EU (Italian) consumer complaint on Altroconsumo reports a Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G bought Sept 2024 was sent to authorized service three times in one year: repeated power-button malfunction, then abnormal overheating even in mild ambient temperatures, proximity-sensor malfunction during calls, and a sudden motherboard failure that caused total irreversible loss of all personal data.
What to check. An EU buyer should know the power button and motherboard are reported weak points; a sudden motherboard failure can wipe all data with no backup possible. Keep backups and be ready to use the legal warranty (the complainant was still within the conformity guarantee).
Redmi Note 13 Pro screen glitching/lines and auto off-on while gaming (TR owner report)
A Turkish owner on the Techolay forum reports the screen shows lines, glitches, and turns off then back on, typically while gaming (Brawl Stars). Forum respondents say this is not normal, likely not software, and since it is a TR-market device it should be sent to warranty.
What to check. A Turkish buyer who sees screen glitching/lines during gaming should treat it as a hardware display fault and use the warranty rather than accept it as normal.
Xiaomi official FAQ: heating while gaming on Redmi Note 13 Pro is normal
Xiaomi's own FAQ (manufacturer documentation) states that significant heat during demanding games is normal and that the device is optimized for heat dissipation. This disputes the overheating concern raised in the Italian warranty complaint, so it is kept as a counterpoint.
What to check. Mild heating while gaming is normal per the manufacturer; but the Italian complaint describes abnormal overheating even in mild ambient conditions, so persistent overheating outside gaming should still be checked under warranty.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
