Philips Series 3200 LatteGo EP3246/70: known problems

3 sourced reports, with what to check before you buy. Each one links to the page it was reported on.

Costly or dangerous

Brew group / red injection seal (joint torique) crumbles and blocks coffee flow

Owner forum thread on the Darty SAV community, specific to the EP3246/70. Owners report the machine builds pressure then a loud 'clac' with no coffee coming out; one certified owner traced it to the small red injection seal (joint torique) that had crumbled, another to the brew group on the right side being clogged with agglomerated ground coffee. This is a recurring, owner-diagnosed failure of a small rubber seal rather than a full machine failure.

What to check. If the EP3246/70 stops delivering coffee but hot water and milk still work, check the red injection seal and the right-side brew group for crumbled rubber or packed grounds before assuming a pump failure. The seal is a small, cheap consumable, but it is the specific part that fails here.

Worth checking

Coffee-water leak from the machine on every use

Turkish complaint board (Şikayetvar) page for the EP3246/70. An owner reports a coffee-water leak on every use since January 2025, taken to the authorized service three times with the problem persisting. This is a persistent leak that the authorized service could not resolve.

What to check. A persistent coffee-water leak that survives three authorized-service visits is a real reliability concern. Check for leaks early, as this one was not fixed by the service.

Pump is hard to remove for repair (blocked by rubber mount)

Owner forum thread on the Darty SAV community, specific to the EP3246/70. An owner trying to replace the pump found it blocked top and bottom by a black rubber mount that would not release, making the pump hard to access for repair. This shows pump replacement is not a simple DIY job on this model.

What to check. If the pump fails, note that it is tightly held by rubber mounts and is not easy to remove at home. Factor in service cost if the pump needs replacing.
