NTC temperature sensor fault triggers three red warning lights on EP1200/EP2200

Repair forum (Depanntout, French) thread on a Philips EP1200 or EP2200 showing three red warning lights, found via the 'Philips Series 2200 EP2200 panne forum' search. The poster measured the NTC sensor at 60–80 kΩ cold, found the self-test failed at 80 kΩ, and resolved it by replacing the sensor and the two series thermal fuses (klixon). The exact model is uncertain (EP1200 or EP2200).

What to check. Three red lights that persist after cleaning can be an electrical fault (NTC sensor / thermal fuses) rather than a mechanical blockage; this needs a service visit or board-level repair.

Series 2200 coffee mill failed after one year; machine stopped after warranty

Owner review on Swiss retailer Galaxus (EU market), found via the 'Philips Series 2200 EP2200 reliability forum' search. The owner reports the coffee mill broke after 1 year and the machine then stopped working after warranty, suspecting the brew group. They note the official repairer Sertronics charges 60 CHF just to inspect and estimate a ~250 CHF repair.

What to check. Expect grinder/brew-group failure within the first two years; the post-warranty repair cost is high relative to the machine price, so check warranty terms and weigh repair against replacement.

Worth checking

Brew-unit channel behind sieve blocked, stopping the Series 2200

Owner of a Series 2200 (EP2220) on the iFixit German forum, found via the 'Philips EP2200 arıza şikayet' and 'panne forum' searches. The machine aborted its cleaning cycle with a red error LED; after disassembly the owner found a blockage in the brew-unit channel behind the sieve, cleared it, and the machine worked again. The thread also notes the support valve can be completely calcified ('ich habe schon völlig zugekalkte gesehen').

What to check. If the machine aborts cleaning or brewing with an error, the brew-unit channel behind the sieve and the support valve are prime blockage points; regular cleaning and descaling prevent this.

Worn pin valve makes EP2200 leak into the drip tray

Repair-shop guide (Brewive) for the EP series including EP2200, found via the 'Philips EP2200 su kaçırıyor şikayet' search. It states water pooling in the drip tray with no error message is almost always a worn/damaged pin valve behind the brewing unit, replaceable in ~15 minutes with a Torx T10. This is a seller's guide, so weaker than an owner report, but it names a concrete part and failure mode.

What to check. A silent leak into the drip tray points to the pin valve behind the brew unit; it is a cheap, DIY-replaceable part (Torx T10, ~15 min).

Minor

New EP2200 aroma-seal bean-lid not airtight (Turkish complaint)

Turkish complaints site (Şikayetvar) for the TR market, found via the 'Philips Series 2200 EP2200 kaput forum' search. A buyer of a new EP2200 reports the 'Aroma seal' bean-lid is not airtight/vacuum-sealed and wobbles; Philips replied and marked it resolved. This is a cosmetic/build-quality complaint rather than a functional failure.

What to check. Minor build-quality issue: the bean-container lid may not seal tightly out of the box; check it on delivery if you rely on the aroma seal.
