Worth checking
Japan recall of PowerCore 10000 also covers only A1263 variants, not A1246
The Japanese Consumer Affairs Agency recall of PowerCore 10000 (410,000+ units) lists only A1263 variants (A1263N12, A1263016, A1263N22, A1263026, A1263036, A1263096). The A1246 is not among the recalled models.
What to check. Confirms across both US and Japan markets that the PowerCore 10000 recall targets A1263 models only. The A1246 PD Redux is not recalled in either market.
User reports PowerCore 10000 PD Redux 25W ran 6 hours without significant heat
An Amazon Japan customer review reports using the PowerCore 10000 PD Redux 25W (the A1246 family) continuously for 6 hours while powering a 12V fan, observing almost no heat from the cable, with the power bank itself being the warmer component.
What to check. Single-user anecdote, not a systematic test. It suggests normal thermal behavior for this model under continuous moderate load, but does not rule out long-term degradation or manufacturing defects.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
