Himo C26 torque/motor controller breaks down, per owner and seller
An owner reports the torque controller breaking down and the seller confirming it is typical of Himo bikes with plenty of reports. This is the strongest motor-controller failure claim found.
What to check. Before buying, confirm the controller is covered by a warranty longer than the common failure window (reported around 6 months) and that a replacement controller is actually available in your market.
Himo C26 battery indicator wrong because factory BO voltage set to 36V instead of 48V
Two identical new bikes showed a full battery on the panel when the battery was low; the fix was correcting the factory-set battery voltage parameter from 36V to 48V. Points to a factory configuration defect affecting the battery charge readout.
What to check. If the panel shows a permanently full battery, check the controller's battery-voltage (BO) setting is 48V, not 36V; a wrong setting hides a genuinely low battery, which can lead to deep discharge.
Himo C26 display error and freeze after about 2 months
The owner says the bike was fine until after 2 months it stopped working, gave an error and the display froze; it broke after 2 months of non-intensive use. Corroborates the electrical/controller failure theme.
What to check. Treat the display/controller as a known early-failure point; check whether the seller or importer provides a repair path in TR/EU before purchase.
Himo C26 uses a 48V TFL48V10AH battery with only a 1-year warranty
Identifies the battery as a 48V Zheijang Tianhong lithium unit, model TFL48V10AH, 480 Wh, and notes the battery carries only a 1-year warranty while the bike has 2 years.
What to check. The battery (the most expensive and safety-critical part) is warranted for only one year; budget for a possible out-of-warranty battery replacement and confirm a genuine replacement is obtainable in TR/EU.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
