Bip 5 IP68 claim fails in practice — watch dies on water contact
Two separate verified Czech reviews on Alza.hu (Nov 2024 and Sep 2024) report the watch dying after water contact despite the IP68 rating; both warranty claims were rejected with 'unknown fluid ingress'.
What to check. Do not rely on the IP68 rating for any water exposure — even tap splash killed units, and the manufacturer rejected the claims. Treat it as a splash-resistant watch at most.
Bip 5 battery collapses from 10 days to hours after ~2 months
Italian Amazon verified review, April 2026. Battery that was advertised at 10 days suddenly lasted only hours after roughly two months of ownership; a repair attempt returned the watch unchanged ('nessun riscontro') and the owner requested a refund.
What to check. Buy with a return window long enough to test past the 2-month mark, and be prepared that warranty repair may not resolve a battery fault.
Bip 5 display goes permanently black after a pool visit
German Amazon review (June 2026) — after one pool visit the screen went permanently black and the watch would no longer charge; the return window had expired, leaving the owner with a dead unit.
What to check. Keep the receipt and test water resistance within the return window; the watch is not safe for swimming despite marketing claims.
Bip 5 Bluetooth connection drops repeatedly, needs resets
Canadian Amazon review (July 2024) — the watch repeatedly drops the phone connection and requires resets; after a software update it stopped tracking health data entirely. A Finnish retail review (Verkkokauppa) independently confirms: 'Muuten toimiva laite, mutta välillä kadottaa yhteyden kännykkään' (works but occasionally loses connection to the phone).
What to check. Expect to re-pair the watch regularly; if you rely on notifications, verify they arrive reliably before committing.
Bip 5 software glitches: phantom alarms and failed watch-face sync
Spanish Amazon review — after 3 months the watch began vibrating for dismissed alarms and failed to sync watch faces; official service could not fix it and Amazon returned it unchanged. The Turkish Şikayetvar comparison page independently lists 'Yazılım-güncelleme sorunlu' (software/update problematic) among the Bip 5's disadvantages.
What to check. Software faults may not be fixable by the official service channel; budget for the possibility of a dead unit after a few months.
Turkish market: Bip 5 reported with poor build quality and bad service
The Turkish complaints platform Şikayetvar lists these as the Bip 5's disadvantages in its comparison with the Huawei Watch Fit 3: problematic software updates, poor case/strap quality, bad service, problematic buttons/sockets, and expensive service fees. This is the only Turkish-language source that returned substantive complaint content.
What to check. In Turkey, expect weak after-sales support and high repair costs; the case and button quality are reported as subpar.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
