Renault Zoe BT4 XLR battery module internal short-circuit fire recall (2022, code 0DKQ) — production Jan–Feb 2021
Safety risk
Official EU Safety Gate recall (A12/00258/22) notified by France for the Zoe with the BT4 XLR long-range battery module (AR1*1020) built at Flins 3 Jan–22 Feb 2021. The battery can fail during charging or driving, causing an internal short circuit and increased fire risk. The recall extended across multiple EU/EEA countries.
What to check. This affects the long-range BT4 XLR battery variant built in early 2021. A buyer of a used 2021 Zoe should confirm recall 0DKQ has been performed; if not, the battery should be checked by a Renault dealer.
Renault Zoe battery manufacturing-defect short-circuit fire recall (2019, code 0DAS) — production Sep–Dec 2019
Safety risk
French government recall notice (rappel.conso.gouv.fr) for Zoe built 23 Sep–18 Dec 2019 under Renault recall code 0DAS. A battery manufacturing defect can cause a short circuit, overheating, and damage to electrical systems, increasing fire risk.
What to check. Affects 2019-production Zoe (type AG). A used-2019 Zoe buyer should verify recall 0DAS was completed; otherwise the battery should be inspected by a dealer.
Renault Zoe high-voltage battery short-circuit fire recall (2024, code 0EBN) — production Sep 2023
Safety risk
This is an official EU Safety Gate recall (A12/00815/24) notified by France, covering Zoe built at the Flins factory 1–28 September 2023. A manufacturing defect can cause a short circuit inside the high-voltage battery, raising fire risk. Cross-confirmed by French press (auto-infos.fr, La Voix du Nord) reporting the same March 2024 campaign.
What to check. If you own or are buying a Zoe built September 2023, check the VIN against recall code 0EBN and have the dealer inspect/replace the battery. A buyer should verify the car is not under this open recall before purchase.
