Belkin BV106000-04 device plug melted into the strip after ~3 years
A 3/5-star owner review on Belkin.com reviews aggregated by Walmart Business.
What to check. An owner reports a device plug melting into the strip after roughly three years of use, consistent with the pack's note that MOV-based surge protectors degrade with age and can fail hot. This supports replacing the unit periodically rather than assuming lifetime safety.
Belkin BV106000-04 emitted smoke on plug-in (owner report)
A 1/5-star owner review on the Belkin.com reviews aggregated by Walmart Business.
What to check. An owner reports the unit poured smoke immediately on plug-in, and Belkin's own reply told the customer to discontinue using the strip. This is a single owner report, not a recall, but it is a documented smoke/fire incident on this exact model.
No CPSC recall covers BV106000-04; Belkin recall is for SurgeMaster F9G930 models
The only Belkin surge-protector recall found is CPSC Release #10-024 (Oct 27, 2009) for SurgeMaster models F9G930-10, F9G930v10, F9G930-10-W and F9G930-10-SN.
What to check. There is no official CPSC recall for the BV106000-04 itself. The only Belkin surge-protector recall covers a different SurgeMaster line, so a buyer cannot rely on a recall notice for this model; the fire/smoke reports above are the only documented warnings for it.
These reports come from the pages linked under each item: owner forums, repair guides and workshops. They are not a diagnosis of any one unit, and a careful check of the one you are buying still applies.
